One of the better known higher education institutions in the mid west is Ball State University. Although a number of people tend to think of this school as nothing more than a third choice, this state-supported university is greater than such a reputation and rivals that best private schools in the area.
Ball State University features over 180 different degree choices, including 11 pre-professional programs. Whether students are business, scientific, social, or political minded, there are majors for every type of personality and ambition. Ball State also offers excellent pre-med programs for dentistry, optometry, pharmacology, general medicine, and more. There are even study abroad programs, allowing students to explore the world while getting a solid education.
Surprisingly, many leading company founders or CEOs have gotten a degree from the university. Examples include John Schnatter, the founder of Papa John’s pizza, and Kent Nelson, the former CEO of United Parcel Service. Such notable alumni give plenty of inspiration to current students.
Referred to as Ball State, BSU and Ball U, this is quite a large school, sitting on greater than 1,000 suburban acres in the northwestern part of Muncie, Indiana. However, most students might think of it as physically smaller, compared to the other public universities, within the state.
